Finally, the work has begun! The coat rack is gone and I had 2 walls painted in the color sporting blue. The walls were painted over our mid-winter break! Next up will be the chalkboard will be removed within a week. We are experiencing what I am calling growing pains. I told my students we need to go with the flow and do our best while the room is under construction. So far, my students have been fantastic with the growing pains. Me on the other hand, is stressing out.
The next set of pictures you will see is a copy of my daily schedule and how to handle issues that might arise due to the new furniture with my students. I needed to look at each part of my day to see what I needed to do to prepare for my new classroom. I didn't realize how much I do in a day until I saw it on paper. I am very glad I did these two activities. I now feel that I am better prepared to help my students be successful in the new classroom.
Our classroom has gone even more changes. We have taken out the chalkboard and we wait for the arrival of the brand new whiteboard. In the meantime, I am using my Promethean Board on a make shift holder and I have cords going everywhere. Again, the students are holding up better than me, but I know I can do this. Hopefully, the board will be here soon!
The Big Day has ARRIVED!!!!!
On Friday, April 7th, during Spring Break, my room was finished with all the new furniture. I was able to go into my classroom to see all the changes. I was so nervous, but excited. I couldn't believe my eyes and I was so happy when I walked into my room. It was more fantastic than I could imagine and this is what I saw:

I was so excited for Monday that I could hardly sleep over the weekend! I was going to have a ribbon cutting ceremony for my students that following Monday. I arrived very early at work and I put the ribbon on the door and I had the door shut so no one could see it until we had the ribbon cutting ceremony. The students were so excited and here are some pictures from that ceremony.
Once we got into the room, the students were just as excited and happy as I was! In fact, I have had parents come in during the first week because their child couldn't stop talking about how great the room was now with all the new furniture. Here are some pictures of them in the classroom.
Then on Tuesday I was given this from my students. This made my year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then, my white board finally came in. The first two that came in were wrong but the third time was the lucky charm!
